Three detained in Gorton as authorities explore internet dating app fraud

Three folks have come arrested in dawn raids in Gorton today (Tuesday) within a study into 21 cases of dating application scam across the area.

Two boys aged 35 and 41 and one lady elderly 35 had been arrested on uncertainty of fraudulence offences.

The warrants were executed at three addresses across Gorton as an element of better Manchester authorities’s Operation Sunbird, developed from the energy’s Specialist scam Investigation device.

The fraud crimes happened to be committed between Oct 2018 and March 2020 across better Manchester, in which candidates presented as female on dating and messaging apps to coax folk into paying out a large amount of cash into a banking account.
